Programming.school meets with Teky Vietnam to explore STEAM-to-IT education pathways

Building continuity from elementary STEAM to advanced programming

Programming.school founder Sergey Shedov met with Teky Vietnam's leadership in Ho Chi Minh City to explore collaboration on creating seamless pathways from elementary STEAM learning to advanced IT courses. Teky operates dozens of centers across Vietnam, serving children aged 5 to 18 with coding and robotics programs.

The meeting focused on solving a common challenge: many Vietnamese children start learning coding through STEAM programs but face uncertainty about how to continue as they mature. Programming.school and Teky discussed how to create clear progression from elementary technology exposure to advanced programming education.

What was discussed

Several partnership initiatives were explored:

  • Curriculum alignment — Mapping Teky's programs with programming.school's offerings to create smooth transitions between levels.
  • Joint workshops and events — Co-organizing coding workshops and hackathons that expose Teky students to advanced topics.
  • Teacher collaboration — Sharing instructional expertise between organizations.
  • Bridge modules — Offering Teky's older students introductory modules in advanced topics like data science, preparing them for programming.school courses.

Benefits for Vietnamese students

A partnership between programming.school and Teky would provide students with clear educational pathways, continuity of learning, and long-term skill development — from basic STEAM concepts in elementary school through professional-level programming in high school.

As programming.school continues its expansion in Vietnam, partnerships with established providers like Teky will be crucial for building the comprehensive education ecosystem that Vietnam's tech sector needs.
