Over the past months, the Swiss Coding Academy team has conducted another large-scale study of the market for additional IT education for adults. We studied students' expectations, their perception of course quality, attitudes towards blended learning formats, price sensitivity and the level of trust in IT education in general.
Below are the most interesting findings, which may be useful for anyone thinking about starting an apprenticeship or simply interested in how IT education is developing in the country.
1. People really see IT education as an investment in the future
The most striking and, frankly, inspiring finding is that most people see IT education as a way to improve their careers and increase income stability.
The survey data shows that for many people, learning is not a "hobby" or an attempt to try something new, but a fully realized decision related to their future profession.

2. The blended learning format is favored by almost everyone
Despite the growth of online education, the majority of respondents reported that a blended format is optimal.
Why this is important:
- it suits university students (schedule flexibility is important to them);
- parents see the offline part as a guarantee of control and quality;
- young professionals appreciate the possibility to save time and learn online while maintaining contact with the offline teacher.
These findings show that the demand for blended-learning is growing and will become a market standard in the coming years.

3. They want to learn in Vietnamese - but are willing to absorb materials in English
A very interesting finding:
- Most people want explanations and answers to questions in Vietnamese;
- yet the materials themselves - presentations and theory - can be in English and people do not find this a problem.
In fact, this suggests that English IT terminology has already become the norm, but comfortable explanation in the native language still plays a big role.

4. Accreditation and official documents are really important
The study showed that people want not only knowledge, but also official proof of qualifications.
Certificates and even diplomas are important to many - that is, documents that can be shown to an employer or attached to a CV. This shows that the market is becoming more mature and demanding.
5. The strongest trigger for selection is the quality of teachers
Not price, not duration, not format - it was the quality of teachers that proved to be the main factor in course selection for all segments.
Moreover, people want:
- real experts with experience,
- clear biographies,
- examples of projects,
- and a lively teaching style.
This means that the market is moving away from marketing and towards professionalism.

Bottom line
Our research shows that the IT education market in Vietnam is now actively developing. People are becoming more conscious in choosing courses, are ready to invest in training and expect high quality, clear formats and official confirmation of results.
We are happy to share the results and believe that such data helps everyone - both schools and prospective students - to understand each other better.
