Swiss Coding Academy hosted the first intensive demo-class on Data Science for Business program - a new direction for office specialists, created under the methodological guidance of programming.school founder Sergey Shedov.
During four sessions, participants were immersed in the basics of analytical thinking, tried themselves as data analysts, solved real case studies and presented their solutions in teams.
The atmosphere during the whole course was warm, open and really working: a lot of discussions, questions, laughter and confident immersion into the world of statistics and data visualization.

This confirms that there is indeed a need for such a course, and the Vietnamese market needs a program that teaches not tools for tools' sake, but analytical thinking and working with data in real business contexts.
How it went
The demo class included:
- group assignments,
- dissection of real working data,
- mini-lectures on statistics,
- exercises in Google Sheets,
- visualization in Looker Studio,
- discussion of findings,
- presentation of results.
Participants solved data analysis cases, discussed hypotheses, analyzed typical errors in interpreting statistics and showed their conclusions to the teams.
Why it's important
The demo class confirmed exactly what the Data Science for Business course was created for: people want to learn how to work with data not for the sake of a tool, but to make better decisions, understand reports, see errors in interpretation and improve processes in their company.
For us, this is another step in creating a strong educational product for adults, which continues the philosophy of Swiss coding academy: systematic, evidence-based, fundamental.
What's next
Based on the demo class, we are launching a full-fledged Data Science for Business program - five months of hands-on training for office professionals, executives, and anyone who wants to make data-driven decisions.
